FINISHED;; i'm sorry it's pretty short. if there is an issue with fawkes being pregnant with a foal already, then just let me know...
Name: Fawkes Age: Four Gender: Female Height: 15.3hh Breed: Thoroughbred x Arabian Path: Holy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks: To bring forth a vivid description of Fawkes, we must first consider her bloodlines and the standards of the two breeds from which she is linked. Both the Thoroughbred and the Arabian are fine, hot-blooded breeds, which is clearly displayed in her dished face and high crest, as well as the way that the outlines of several of her ribs can be seen through her flesh. The rest of her body is more like that of a racehorse, being long and lean, with limbs that seem far too long and thin to support the rest of her body, but suggest at great speed and endurance. Fawkes is still slightly gangly compared to most older equines - a sign of her youth, but she stands as tall as any adult of her blood at 15.3hh.
To her pelt, Fawkes is a vibrant chestnut; a colour that seems to glow with a blood red hue. She has four white socks that seem to enhance the shade of the rest of her coat, and a thin white blaze that runs down the center of her face. In texture, her fur is short and smooth, and silky to the touch, although this can be an issue in the colder months as she is kept nowhere near as warm as most other equines would be. Overall, Fawkes looks very much like a moving flame; a pheonix. Purposeful in her stride, and often travelling at a very fast pace, it is pretty clear where her name originated, although the image of being a proud, elegant flame is destroyed somewhat by her quiet, insignificant voice, and the fact that she has a posture that makes her seem far less important as those around her.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personality: In the past, Fawkes was a loud, arrogant filly with a knack for teasing and irritating others. While she was not the most popular of youngsters, she had many friends, and appeared to have bucket-loads of self confidence. This changed, however, when she left the Dark lands that she had inhabited for so long, and she became far more grown-up, speaking softly and kindly to those around her, and thinking of the consequences that her words and actions could have before doing anything. She also became quieter, more melancholy, and hardly as outgoing as she once was. In the thirteen days that she fled the shadow realms, Fawkes learnt not to complain, but instead to appreciate everything she was given, and not take it for granted.
Perhaps the thought of carrying a foal also affected her personality, for Fawkes became far less excitable, acting less like a filly, and more like a seasoned mare who had seen time come and go. She learnt to harden herself to life, and the things that life brings, deciding to ignore negative comments and failing to let them hurt her any more. Fawkes is still irritable at times, and is known for her spells of moodiness during which she snaps at everything and everyone, but apart from this, she has overall become a better being for her experience. In truth, only one change happened during the most recent months of her life: she grew up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History: Finally, we come to her history. As a yearling, Fawkes fancied herself as an equine of the Dark alliance, leaving the sheltered existence she'd had in the neutral herd of her parents for a far more 'exciting' lifestyle. The young filly wandered for a bit, before finding exactly what she has set out in search of - a thriving Dark community in the middle of nowhere. She was claimed almost immediately by a low-ranking stallion known as Achilles, and lived in his harem for just under a month. She was then awoken one autumn morning to find that her lord had been slaughtered in one of the many schisms that took place in the area, and was taken to join the herd of a male named Zeus - a Royal among the other lower equines.
After hissing, arguing, and verbally abusing Zeus for several months, Fawkes eventually began to appreciate the softer side of his personality, and agreed to bear him a foal. After eight months by his side, she was pregnant with the King's foal, and had finally come to the conclusion that she 'liked' him. No, not 'loved', that was for the lesser species, Light equines, but she liked him a great deal. Fawkes began to feel that she had already found her 'Happy Ending', a feeling that was odd for a mare of such an unholy alliance, but it was not meant to be. She was informed, one frosty night in January, that Zeus had lost his crown to an opposing stallion, and that all of his mares were to be slaughtered as a result. Terrified, and beginning to swell with foal, Fawkes fled the area, hating herself for ever believing that she was safe there in the first place.
She gave up her alliance to the Darks that very same night, chosing to stick to the more honourable side of things, and bearing the title of a Light mare instead. Fawkes travelled for thirteen days; almost two weeks of constant running in fear of being chased. It was then that she came across the realms of Darkest Destiny, and chose to wander there in search of a home for both her and her unborn child.

Sample Post: (As Skin)
Relief. Yes, that was the one feeling that struck Skin as being the most significant. After traveling for what felt like centuries, but what was really just months, he was exhausted, bored, and longing for company. As a result of such a long trek, he was now looking positively scruffy, dirty, and just generally a total wreck of a pony. Still, luck seemed to be heading his way, as he hadn't really expected to waltz into an abandoned terrain and claim it as his own - that had been way too much to hope for. So why was he about to do just that? The dark-coloured stallion shifted forward at an extended trot, his short, choppy strides eating up the ground. His head was carried lower than usual as he gave the land a brief inspection, noting the dry, cracked earth, and the ditch that was a sure suggestion that a river had once run through the area, but it was long since dry. Skin gave a gentle snort, communicating little more than his interest, and coming to a slow halt in what seemed to be the center of the land, although he could not be accurate. It wasn't the most beautiful terrain in the world - he was pretty sure of that - but, being travel-worn and feeling weak from a lack of rest, Skin decided that it suited him just fine.
Now he was just faced with the small matter of securing the land as his own: something that Skin felt should be a formal occasion, although he had no idea how to do it in such a way. The Icelandic Pony stood, rooted to the spot by his confusion, and acknowledging the fact that, if he was in a worse mood, he would most probably have ripped up the autumn-coloured leaves scattered across the ground by now. He was hardly talented at declaring such binding speeches, but Skin was not new to the idea of 'claiming' a land, and so he did as he had done little more than a year ago. "I, Skin, claim this land as my own. All who oppose me will fall, and those who stand with me will be united under one flag. That of the Dry River herd." Well, Skin didn't actually have a flag, but it was a nice enough thought, and he had meant everything that he had spoken. His Neutral upbringing meant that he was not afraid to fight other equines, but nor was he afraid to show love. With the terrain formally declared as his own, Skin exhaled deeply, shaking his small body from side to side, and shutting his eyelids as he remained standing. While a magnificent world of herds and families was waiting, the world of dreams and hopes seemed far more welcoming to Skin at that moment in time, and before long, he had joined the void of sleep.
